SHUHARI
The Peaceful Mountain System taught at my dojo is based on the concept of the three stages of proficiency: Shuhari.
My journey started with traditional teachings and fundamental techniques of these systems that I have studied during my lifetime. Hakkoryu, 52 years, Yoshitsune Jujutsu 59 years, Karate, and Judo 20 years. The martial arts and healing arts I have mastered are incorporated into my lifestyle; I live what I teach.
When I decided to break away from certain traditional Jujutsu systems I formed my system, TaizanRyu the Peaceful Mountain System, and within the TaizanRyu system of self-defense I teach, Taiho Jutsu, apprehension techniques, and application. They can be used by anyone, especially those in law enforcement agencies. I teach the traditional systems of Ju Jutsu because the basic exercises known as katas and wazas, educate the practitioner on how to apply the defense applications for real-time street use. I also teach and encourage the healing art of the Peaceful Mountain system of Shiatsu, which I have developed to balance the martial arts with the healing arts.
I continue teaching traditional combative Ju Jutsu techniques for self-defense purposes. My philosophy is “One must be able to dedicate themselves to training as much as they can, to keep up their skills of offense and defense.” I focus my attention on the movement of one's body to defend oneself on all 360 degrees of approach from an attack. Martial Arts and martial ways are not for everyone. I believe in my 60 years of martial arts knowledge and study; one must devote the time to practice these ancient arts of self-defense to use them effectively.
But my Journey would have never happened if it weren't for the Love I have for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who saved my life.
Thank you, God, for believing in me, to God be the Glory.
